MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTING (M. Sc. ACCOUNTING)

PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of the M. Sc. Accounting programme is as follows:
To strengthen the intellectual capacity of students in the accounting discipline so as to equip them with adequate knowledge needed for understanding and analysis of the basic issues in the private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Provided the University’s matriculation requirements are satisfied; Candidates are expected to have:

  • Degree in Accounting from Samuel Adegboyega University or from any other recognised University with minimum of second class lower division may be admitted provided the university matriculation requirements are satisfied or
  • A postgraduate diploma in Accounting from Samuel Adegboyega University or from any other recognised University.

DURATION
Duration of the master degree programme is as follows:

  • Full-time: A minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters
  • Part-time: A minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING

The philosophy of the postgraduate diploma is as follows:
To strengthen the intellectual capacity of students in the accounting discipline so as to equip them with adequate knowledge needed for understanding and analysis of the basic issues in the private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Provided the matriculation requirements are satisfied; Candidates are expected to have:

  • Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at the Ordinary Level (‘O’ level) in not more than two sittings and
  • Bachelor’s Degrees not lower than third Class Division from recognised Universities, or
  • Higher National Diploma from recognised Institutions, or
  • Relevant professional qualifications.

DURATION
Duration of the postgraduate diploma programme is as follows:

  • Full-time: A minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters
  • Part-time: A minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters.
